DULUTH -- Gwinnett County police are still piecing together exactly what happened Friday evening when gunshots erupted in the parking lot of a Duluth apartment complex, leaving one victim wounded and another dead.
Witnesses told police that two men were conversing with the occupants of a dark-colored vehicle at the Carrington Chase Apartment complex at 3800 Club Drive Friday, when several shots were fired from the vehicle at around 5:45 p.m., police spokesman Cpl. Brian Kelly said.
One victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the groin, and was rushed by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical Center.
A second victim, shot in the upper torso, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, Kelly said.
The victims have not yet been positively identified, Kelly said, but are believed to be in their early 20s.
"We're really sparse on details right now," Kelly said.
The "three or four suspects (that) may be involved" are only described as "dark-skinned, possibly black, males" at this time.
Motive was not clear, Kelly said.
The suspects' vehicle was last seen speeding from the complex.
