SUWANEE -- A motorcyclist died near North Gwinnett High School on Thursday morning after colliding with a car, police said.
The accident happened about 11:30 a.m. on Suwanee Dam Road, adjacent to a school driveway. The motorcyclist, who was not identified, died at the scene, police said.
Police believe the motorcyclist was northbound on Suwanee Dam Road when the driver of a southbound 2009 Honda Civic turned into his path in an attempt to enter the school's driveway.
The man was thrown from the motorcycle and fatally injured, said Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Brian Kelly.
Traffic and criminal charges are pending upon further investigation, Kelly said.
The deceased man's identity was withheld, pending notification of his next-of-kin.
