BUFORD -- Mall of Georgia will be part of the largest radio fundraiser in the southeast when Atlanta area on-air personalities broadcast live from inside Aug. 6 and 7.
Part of an on-air radio campaign that kicked off July 26, the broadcast will help raise money to support the March of Dimes, an organization that works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
"The March of Dimes work touches nearly every person in our community," said Dan Kearney, vice president and market manager of sales for Cox Radio. "Atlanta's radio industry is proud to support its vision that one day all babies will be born healthy."
Radio stations will be at the mall from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and will include B98.5, WYAY True Oldies, 94.9 The Bull, WGST 640 AM and 96.7 FM The Legend.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to learn more about prenatal care and infant health from medical experts who will be on site and March of Dimes' "miracle children" will model the latest in children's fashions during the Purple It! Fashion Show at 3 p.m. Aug. 7.
Radio listeners and mall shoppers can contribute to the fundraising campaign by visiting www.marchofdimes.com/georgia or making a donation at the mall Aug. 6 or 7. More information is available on the March of Dimes website.
