ELLENWOOD -- Police continue to search for two suspects believed to be involved in the shooting of a DeKalb County police officer.
DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said Officer Jerome Tillery was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said he was shot in the arm while chasing suspects in Ellenwood just outside Atlanta.
DeKalb County public safety director William Miller says Tillery was responding to the report of a shooting in the a neighborhood when he began following a suspicious truck. Miller said three people jumped from the truck and one shot the officer as he chased them on foot.
