SNELLVILLE -- Police say an anonymous tip led to the drug-related arrests of a Snellville mother and her two teenaged children Monday.

Gwinnett County police responded to a home at 2760 Hadrian Drive on Monday afternoon in relation to a call concerning drug activity at the residence.

With investigators finding past reasons to believe the tip could be true, they went to the house, observing several people inside and the "strong odor of burning marijuana."

What they found once inside was evidence that "would seem to indicate that the suspects' home may have been used to host people engaging in the purchase and use of marijuana," police spokesman Cpl. Brian Kelly said.

The residents of the home were all arrested and booked with drug-related charges: 44-year-old Laura Diane Cox and 17-year-old daughter Casey Rebecca Cox with two counts of possession of marijuana, and 19-year-old son Marcus Shawn Cox with two counts of possession with the intent to distribute.

Casey Cox is a registered Brookwood High School student, Gwinnett County Public Schools spokesman Jorge Quintana said.

Gwinnett County Jail records show no previous arrests for any parties involved. All three posted bond Tuesday.
