LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gwinnett County sheriff's deputies tracked down a Lawrenceville man Wednesday wanted for his failure to appear in court for kidnapping and other charges.
Twenty-year-old Michael Aaron Francis was taken into custody at 2109 Holland Place, where he initially attempted to flee by leaping from a balcony before being nabbed inside an apartment, spokeswoman Stacey Bourbonnais said.
Francis was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant for failing to show up to his July 8 arraignment on kidnapping charges. He also faced additional charges of battery and conspiracy to commit a felony after Bourbonnais said he contacted a supplier and attempted to purchase half a pound of marijuana.
Jail records show he spent 18 days incarcerated on kidnapping charges last July before posting $11,200 bond.
