BUFORD -- An overturned tractor-trailer left its driver trapped inside and closed down all lanes of Interstate 85 North near Hamilton Mill Road Friday afternoon.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded to the crash at around 1:42 p.m., finding the truck flipped on its side, the driver pinned inside and an active fuel leak coming from the vehicle, Gwinnett County fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said.
Due to extensive damage, it took firefighters almost 15 minutes to free the trapped driver from the cab. The driver was then transferred to Gwinnett Medical Center with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.
All northbound lanes of I-85 were blocked until about 4 p.m.
