DULUTH -- A pending divorce and a wife's suspicions led to the discovery of child pornography files on the computer of a Duluth man last week, police said.

According to the police report, the wife of Mark Alan Rossmanith, 46, had suspicions that her husband had been moving money out of his accounts prior to their divorce proceedings.

As a result, she had an information technology worker come to their home on Stately Oaks Lane and transfer files from a hard drive in Rossmanith's office. What they found were disturbing images, police said, ones that would send Rossmanith to jail.

The IT worker "saw that a lot of the files contained pornography and stated that there were so many files he could only copy a small portion." That small portion, police said, included a dozen or so images of "obviously pre-pubescent girls, probably 8, 9 or 10 years old, exposing genitalia and posing in sexy positions."

A July 9 inspection of the external hard drive of copied files revealed more images as well as a document with information on how to successfully order child pornography, police said.

According to the police report, Rossmanith admitted to downloading images and videos of child pornography.

Rossmanith was booked into Gwinnett County Jail on charges of felony sexual exploitation of children on July 9. He posted $27,700 bond and was released the next day.

Duluth man snared in chat room sting

Police say they arrested 25-year-old Duluth man Dhavalkumar Arvind Bharucha Wednesday after he had sexually explicit chat room conversations with a police officer posing as a young girl.

Between May 17 and July 9, Bharucha engaged in explicit Yahoo messenger conversations with the person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, "transmitting images of his exposed penis" from his home at 106 Club Place, police said.

Bharucha was booked into Gwinnett County Jail on Wednesday on charges of felony sexual exploitation of a child, remaining there with no bond.
