LAWRENCEVILLE — This election season, two local polling places will be offering free vaccinations.
The Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Departments will be administering Tdap (tetanus, diptheria and pertussis/whooping cough) and pneumococcal vaccines while supplies last as part of their “Vote and Vaccinate” campaign. In Gwinnett, vaccinations will be available at Suwanee’s George Pierce Park on the morning of July 20, as well as throughout the week of July 12-20 at Lawrenceville Health Center. Tdap vaccines are available for those between 18-64. The pneumococcal vaccine is available for those over 65. “During elections, thousands are expected to vote at their local community polling places,” said Dr. Lloyd Hofer, the director for the Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Departments. “The Vote and Vaccinate campaign is one more way we can reach our at-risk population and encourage them to get vaccinated.”More like this story
