Woman arrested after admitted drug escapade

NORCROSS -- A Norcross woman who admitted to taking crack cocaine was arrested Saturday, after police said she entered a pair of strangers' apartments, urinating on herself before jumping out of one window and threatening to kill herself by leaping from another balcony.

Gwinnett County police responded to the Tuscana Apartments at 1850 Jerry Way just after 8 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses told police that the 29-year-old woman, later admitted for evaluation, had been running through the complex trying to enter several apartments.

One resident reported that the woman entered her apartment, urinated on herself, then jumped from her second-story balcony when confronted.

Another resident told police that the woman later entered her unit, "yelling that someone was going to kill her" and attempting to jump from the third-story balcony before being restrained.

The woman later told police that her husband was "cheating on her and that he was attempting to attack her." She also admitted having smoked crack cocaine and drinking four beers earlier in the day.

The suspect, who did not live in the apartment complex, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth, where she was held "due to attempting to kill herself," police said.
