NORCROSS -- Gwinnett library officials and volunteers presented a "dream come true" Thursday, a Spanish-language guide to local services.
"We are brokers of information, and we do that in a lot of different ways," Gwinnett County Public Library Director Nancy Stanbery-Kellam said at an event at the system's Norcross branch. "The success is going to be in the use of all this information."
The guide -- "La Guia de Recursos Hispanos" -- gives information on churches, family services, the education system, health services and even insurance, legal and public transportation.
It was created by a team of partners, including members of the McAfee Group, which operates 11 local Sonic franchises and donated $10,000 to print the guides and create versions for the Internet.
"We want the community to thrive and benefit," said owner Mark McAfee.
Guides, which also have information in English, are available at local library branches as well with community partners listed in the guide, such as churches.
