LAWRENCEVILLE -- Beginning in August, the Gwinnett Braves will distribute monthly grants to local nonprofits.
Under the Gwinnett Braves Grant Program, each month will feature a different theme, with organizations applying for $1,000 grants. Organizations may apply for more than one month and area of giving.
In addition to the grant, chosen organizations will be awarded 50 tickets and a concourse table at a G-Braves game. Each applying nonprofit will receive 20 tickets.
G-Braves General Manager North Johnson, community and Public Affairs Manager Courtney Lawson and Daily Post Editor Todd Cline will make up the selection board.
Organizations can find a grant application at www.gwinnettbraves.com. Those interested must submit their applications by the 15th of the month prior to the desired theme for consideration.
The first grant will be awarded during Coolray Field's Fan Appreciation Weekend, Aug. 27 through 29.
