Youth Roundup: Tournament win sends Easton Elite to ASA nationals

The 12U Easton Elite won the Queen of the Hill softball tournament in LaGrange to earn a berth to the ASA national tournament in Bloomington, Ind.

The Elite were undefeated in the tournament, which included a 10-inning game with the Georgia Extreme. The Elite beat the Georgia Fire 12-2 in the championship game.

Team members are Tori Aycock, Carley Batchelor, Kory Best, Vanessa Bischoff, Bailey Hanson, Remington Hasty, Kendall Herring, Hannah Little, Caroline Sandhagen, Kylee Smith, Jennifer Spangler and Taylor Wise. The team is coached by Greg Hasty, Joey Gulley, Randy Smith and Bill Batchelor.

SOFTBALL

Falcons' All-Stars end season 15-1

The Dacula Falcon 12U All-Star team won three tournaments and finished the season with a 15-1 record.

The Falcons won the South Gwinnett Summer Classic, the Pre-Tri Tournament and the Tri-County Tournament. The Falcons lost one game in the tri-county and came through the losers bracket and beat West Walton twice to capture the tournament crown.

Team members are Meredith Tucker, Morgan Martin, Dacey Jones, Brianna Burger, Courtney Cofino, Kayla Hawkins, Rachel Millhof, Caitlin Stephens, Alaina Daugherty, Hannah Jaeger, Hanna Watkins and Mallory Bryan. The team is coached by Ronnie Millhof, Joel Martin, John Cofino and Kevin Jones.

Hawks win 3 tourneys

The Mill Creek Athletic Association 8U Silver All-star team has won three tournaments this season. The Hawks had a record of 15-2 and won the Summer Classic, the Pre Tri-county and the Tri-county tournament.

Team members are Katie Crowe, Dakota Ellis, Abby Harrell, Courtney Linn, Savy McDaniel, Krissy Miller, Julianna Pinero, Ellie Seeton, Anna Swars, Melina Taddei, Sara Viti and And Bella Silverman. The team is coached by Natalie Viti, David Viti, and Kacie Shields.

Wolves claim another tournament crown

The Buford 10U Wolves All-Stars finished the season with a 14-1 record, which included three tournament wins.

The Wolves claimed titles at the Invitational Warm Up Tournament at South Gwinnett, the Pre Tri-County in North Gwinnett and the Tri-County Tournament Champs. The team will compete in the Georgia ASA C state tournament in Forsyth County on Friday through July 11.

Team members are Mackenzie Hogan, Gabrielle Benson, Anna Bryce Nalley, Kelly Paulson, Katrina Herring, Samantha Thomas, Amelia Herring, Sidney Reynolds, Kirsten Laughlin, Taylor Rowe and Ansley Byers. The team is coached by Chad Herring, Kevin Thomas, Mike Paulson and Bill Benson.

BASEBALL

South Gwinnett American win District 7

The South Gwinnett American All Stars went 4-1 to win the Dixie Youth District 7 Minor League All-Star Championship and advance to the state championship. The State Championship will be held at George Pierce Park on July 17.

On the way to a District Championship, the Comets had to beat Grayson Blue twice in the championship game. They won the first game 16-15 and the second 7-3.

Team members are Matthew Allen, Cameron Barrington, Landon Crafton, Caelan Johnson, Josh Keller, Cory Lee, Brayden Parten, Zach Siebert, Ean Snell, Samual Swaney, Keegan Tranum, and Cameron White. The team is coached by David Snell, Jeff Allen, David Keller and Roddy Tranum.

8U National All-Stars Advance to state

The 8U National All-Star team won the District 6-B championship on June 26. The team defeated Mill Creek in the championship game 12-1 and advanced to the state tournament held in Albany this weekend.

Team members are Ryan Cooper, Zander Sechrist, Benjamin Sheppard, Joshua Shuler, Daniel Teran, Kenneth Huffman, Cameron Speicher, Jarrett Burney, Spencer Southard, Benton Rabitsch, Greyson Pugh and Jake Ludwig. The team is coached by Darin Southard, Cary Cooper, Herb Shuler, Kenny Huffman, Cliff Burney and Laura Southard.

Grayson Green win district crown

The Grayson Green Pee Wee All Stars won the District 7 championship.

After losing the first game of the double elimination tournament, Grayson won six straight to capture the title.

Team members are Grant Boles, Blake Bortak, Zach Douglas, David Jones, Stone McCarty, Haven Sadlock, Mason Thompson, Cam Karambelas, Jonathan Santana, Nathan Laskowski, Hunter Gray and Ja'Mir Brooks. The team is coached by Jamie Bortak, Steve Douglas, Brett Thompson, Mike McCarty and Mike Sadlock.

District 6 sends three to state

Three District 6 Major/Ozone teams advanced to the state tournament in the 11-12 year-old division on June 26 at George Pierce Park.

North Gwinnett American defeated Dacula 12-2 in the championship game and Collins Hill was third. All three teams will go to the state tournament in Columbia County on Saturday. Dacula was also given the sportsmanship award.

Team members for Dacula are Seth Rowe, Michael Rice, John Bryan, Kyle Siut, Andrew Swanson, Benjamin Johns, Nick Coyne, Robert Philo, Ryan Deweese, Kelly Kruegar, Clay McBroom and Tristin Satterfield. The team is coached by Greg Swanson, Matt Lang and Taylor Thomas.

North, Mill Creek advance to state

The North Gwinnett National Pee Wee AA 7-8 year-olds won the District 6 bracket B at Rhodes Jordan Park. The Bulldogs defeated Mill Creek Northern 12-1. Buford National was given the sportsmanship award.

North Gwinnett and Mill Creek advanced to the state Tournament in Lee County this weekend.

VOLLEYBALL

Sarden helps team at nationals

DeLaina Sarden, a rising senior at Peachtree Ridge, helped her A5 team to a runner-up finish at a national tournament in Orlando.

There was 142 teams in the tournament and Sarden was given the all-star player award.
