Gwinnett Daily Post
As summer temperatures rise to the 80s and 90s, Gwinnettians look for ways to stay cool. Some stay inside, some go to the pool and others turn to a five to 14 mile stretch of the
Chattahoochee River. According to Lance Lehew, the owner of Up the River Outfitters, each summer close to 20,000 people take the plunge on the river either from Buford Dam to Ga. Highway 20, Ga. Highway 20 to Settle’s Bridge or Settle’s Bridge to Abbott’s Bridge. Whether rafting, tubing, canoeing or kayaking the river offers a cool and relaxing way to enjoy nature, spend a few hours in the water, and of course, beat the summer heat.More like this story
