SUWANEE -- The City of Suwanee has announced the winner of the 2010 Suwanee Day design competition, and, for the first time in the six-year contest, there was a repeat victor.
Lawrenceville resident Ashleigh James, who also won the 2008 contest for the design to be used for the logo of Suwanee's annual festival, took the cake among 78 other entries.
James' design includes a colorful depiction of Suwanee's Town Center, with city hall and images representing music, art, food and shopping subtly woven in.
"The selection panel was impressed the colors and multi-layered imagery in Ashleigh's winning design," city spokeswoman Lynne Bohlman DeWilde said. "We're excited to have Town Center, now that the main street front is complete, represented so imaginatively in this year's festival design."
James' design will be used on festival T-shirts and promotional materials, DeWilde said.
Suwanee Day 2010, the city's annual celebration of community, will be held on Sept. 18 at Town Center Square.
