Prep Roundup: Agboola leads Dacula over Grayson

DACULA -- Shay Agboola had a double-double with 30 points and 15 rebounds Friday night to help give Dacula a 64-55 win over Grayson in Region 8-AAAAA.

Terrance Hutchins also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards for Dacula (8-12).

Grayson was led by Javaris Smith with 24 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Peachtree Ridge 65, Chattahoochee 50

SUWANEE -- Peachtree Ridge improved to 14-6 overall and 11-3 in Region 7-AAAAA on Friday with a 65-50 win over Chattahoochee.

The leading scorer for the Lions was C.J. Blackwell with 21 points.

Parkview 75, Shiloh 64

LILBURN -- Delano Spencer scored 19 points while Christian Patterson added 17 more Friday as Parkview topped Shiloh 75-64 in Region 8-AAAAA.

Anthony Parker also scored 14 for Parkview (8-12, 4-7) while Cameron Neysmith added 12 points.

Shiloh was led by 20 points from Corbyn Moye, 14 points from Adonai Rogers and 10 points from Mark Wright.

Meadowcreek 67, Berkmar 43

LILBURN -- John Ruff finished with 16 points and six rebounds Friday to lead the Mustangs past Berkmar 67-43 in Region 8-AAAAA.

Shaq Morris added 15 points with six steals for the Mustangs (17-3, 11-1) while Yonel Brown led Berkmar with 10 points.

Central 58, Brookwood 48

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central Gwinnett's Ayo Madamidola led all players with 17 points Friday as the Black Knights pulled away for a 58-48 win over Brookwood in Region 8-AAAAA.

Brian Williams added 13 points for Central (18-2, 9-1) while Kyron Anderson chipped in with 10 points.

Thomas Higginbotham scored 13 points with 14 rebounds and seven assists to lead Brookwood while Isaiah Williams finished with 12 points.

North 68, Northview 37

DULUTH -- North Gwinnett posted its third straight win Friday night by beating Northview 68-37 in Region 7-AAAAA.

The leading scorer for North (10-9, 7-6) was Cyrus Lavant with 14 points. Clayton Williams added 12 points while Conner Day kicked in 10 points.

GAC 93, Avondale 35

NORCROSS -- Five Greater Atlanta Christian players hit for double digits in points as the Spartans blasted Avondale 93-35 in Region 6-AA.

Top scorer for the Spartans (17-1, 9-0) was Malcolm Brogdon with 23 points while Trent Wiedeman and Beaux Hebert each scored 14. Paul Dawson and Elliott Long each finished with 10 points.

Providence 68, Mt. Pisgah 55

LILBURN -- Providence improved to 15-5 on Friday night by beating Mt. Pisgah 68-55.

Peter Hage scored 19 to lead Providence while Nate Bucher finished with 14 points.

Wesleyan 77, Fellowshp 30

ROSWELL -- Takim Williams led a balanced scoring attack for Wesleyan with 14 points Friday as the Wolves pounded Fellowship Christian 77-30 in Region 7-A.

Wes Caver and Andrew Frerking each scored 13 for Wesleyan (15-4, 8-0) while Carter Brantley finished with 11 points.

Old Suwanee 43, Philadelphia 40

SUWANEE -- Devante Davis had 13 points and 11 rebounds Friday as Old Suwanee (10-3) edged Philadelphia Christian 43-40 in the GCAA Class A Region 2 title game.

Austin Peay helped in the win with 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Grayson 45, Dacula 43

DACULA -- Grayson's Taren White scored 24 points with seven steals Friday as the Rams nipped Dacula 45-43 in Region 8-AAAAA action.

Anela Durmic added 14 points as Grayson improved to 9-11 overall and 5-5 in the region. Dacula (6-14, 4-7) was led by 22 points from China Vinson.

Brookwood 40, Central 33

LAWRENCEVILLE -- After trailing for three quarters, Brookwood was able to pull away in the fourth to knock off Central Gwinnett 40-33 in Region 8-AAAAA.

Brookwood (15-5, 9-2) was led by 12 points from Katie Mallow and 11 points from Jazmine Jackson. The Broncos also had the advantage at the free throw line, hitting 15 of 25 while Central was just 4 of 6.

Caryn Ivey was the top scorer for Central (8-11, 5-6) with nine points.

Berkmar 50, Meadowcreek 32

LILBURN -- Kenisha Watkins scored 18 points while Ka'Vonne Towns chipped in nine points Friday to guide Berkmar 50-32 over Meadowcreek in Region 8-AAAAA.

The win improved the Patriots to 9-11 overall and 5-6 in the region. Meadowcreek was led by 14 points from Angel Alexandra.

North 67, Northview 60

DULUTH -- North Gwinnett scored 30 points in the fourth quarter to come from behind and beat Northview 67-60 on Friday in Region 7-AAAAA.

Shay Fleetwood was one of four North players in double figures with 21 points. Other contributors for North (12-7, 6-7) were Stephanie Wheeler with 14 points, Annie Wheeler with 12 points and Abby Slocumb with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Northview (11-9, 5-7) received a game-high 32 points from Sydney Wallace.

Morgan Co. 56, Mountain View 37

MADISON -- Morgan County defeated Mountain View 56-37 on Friday night.

Leading scorers for Mountain View (7-13) were Emery Buckner with 12 points and Bailey Holmes with 11 points.

GAC 72, Avondale 12

NORCROSS -- Emery Lee led all players with 14 points on Friday as Greater Atlanta Christian cruised to a 72-14 win over Avondale in Region 6-AA.

Kristina Nelson added 10 points for GAC (15-4, 4-1) while Clarke Boards finished with nine points.

Buford 53, Westminster 32

ATLANTA -- Lacey Pass finished with 11 points Friday helping Buford to a 53-32 win over Westminster in Region 6-AA.

Andraya Carter added nine points to help Buford (17-1, 9-0) while Shereese Williams finished with eight points.

Wesleyan 70, Fellowship 15

ROSWELL -- Wesleyan had no trouble with Fellowship Christian on Friday, topping the Paladins 70-15 in the North division of Region 7-A.

Kennington Groff scored 13 to lead Wesleyan (17-3, 6-0) while Jordan Frazier followed with 12 points.

Providence 47, Mt. Pisgah 40

LILBURN -- Erika Gotfredson finished with 13 points Friday to help give Providence a 47-40 win over Mount Pisgah.

Jessie Sherman chipped in with nine points for Providence (7-13, 4-3).

Hebron 36, Athens Academy 32

ATHENS -- Hebron notched a Region 8-A win Friday night by slipping past Athens Academy 36-32.

Jalisa Tucker led Hebron (13-5, 8-2) with 12 points while Tai Stringer chipped in with eight points.

Old Suwanee 34, Philadelphia Christian 22

SUWANEE -- Old Suwanee improved to 4-9 on Friday night be beating Philadelphia Christian 34-22.

Amber Terrell led Old Suwanee with 15 points and eight steals while Mary Beth Boatright added 11 points and eight rebounds.
