LAWRENCEVILLE -- Police have arrested a Lawrenceville man they said tried to molest a 5-year-old girl he was babysitting.

James Anthony Bryson, 44, is charged with enticing a child and child molestation in the alleged incident.

According to police, Bryson was asked to babysit the girl and her younger sister at his Waterbury Drive home on Jan. 15. The older girl, reports said, made an outcry to her parents after returning home, and Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Brian Kelly said investigators found enough probable cause to arrest Bryson.

"Detectives have found that the suspect used a magazine containing photographs of women in varied states of undress in an attempt to entice the victim and encourage her to cooperate with the suspect's requests and demands," Kelly said.

According to warrants, Bryson showed the girl pictures and asked to pull her pants down so he could take a picture.

Kelly said that while Bryson has had contact with children in the past, investigators are confident that this is the first incident of this nature.

The girl was not physically harmed, Kelly said.

Bryson was arrested Wednesday and remains in custody at the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
