14 employers team up with Clean Air Campaign

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Fourteen Gwinnett employers have partnered with the Clean Air Campaign to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.

Through the partnership, the employers have made a commitment to improving traffic congestion and air quality in Georgia by implementing commute options programs that promote alternatives to driving alone, such as carpooling, transit, telework, bicycling and walking.

"With more than half of smog-forming emissions coming from tailpipes in many areas across Georgia and EPA's recent proposal to tighten air quality standards even further, these programs have never been more important," said the Clean Air Campaign's Executive Director Kevin Green. "And that's in addition to the universal benefits of reduced commute costs, more productive employees and less traffic."

The participating companies include:

* AE & E Von Roll Inc.

* Chico's FAS Inc. -- Contact Center

* Chico's FAS Inc. -- Distribution Centers 1 and 2

* Fiserv-Software

* Grace Realty Professionals

* Kawneer -- An Alcoa Co.

* Lund International

* Medical Business Services

* Nature's Garden Delivered

* Phoenix Metals

* Unisource

* United Way of Gwinnett

* Yes Video

Three employers, Nature's Garden Delivered, Phoenix Metals and Unisource, joined The Clean Air Campaign's Diesel Idling Reduction Program in addition to their partnership. Relocating to Gwinnett in June, Medical Business Services sought The Clean Air Campaign's assistance to help employees manage their commutes with the transition.
