Tavern @ 29
4299 Lawrenceville Highway, Lilburn
Open since: July
Location: Tavern @ 29 was previously Riverstone Steakhouse and is off Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn.
Hours: 4 p.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays, 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays
Atmosphere: General Manager Christel Chigawa described the atmosphere at Tavern @ 29 as "mature," a nice, comfortable atmosphere where patrons can take in live music each weekend. After opening in July, the establishment has now branded itself as a blues bar. A framed print hanging on a wall near the entrance reads, "Night life is the only life." At Tavern @ 29, which is only open evenings and late into the night, that sentiment holds true.
A main dining area, which includes a bar with bar seating, offers regular table seating with two private areas off to the side, one of which is used for regular book club meetings. A rear dining area with booth and table seating is used for large gatherings, and a patio dining area overlooks Lawrenceville Highway.
- Menu: The menu at Tavern @ 29 includes appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, soups and salads, the most popular of which are the fried green tomatoes served with a house-made remoulade sauce, the 12-ounce ribeye steak and the Angus burger. Entrees include a selection of seafood from citrus-glazed salmon to teriyaki sesame tilapia to fried, breaded catfish.
Chef Richard Wade is currently creating new dishes to add to the menu, including chicken cordon bleu as well as desserts made fresh in-house.
Tavern @ 29 offers a full bar and serves sodas, lemonade, tea and coffee.
