NORCROSS -- Gwinnett police arrested a man Wednesday on outstanding Peeping Tom warrants before discovering that the felon was also riding around with a handgun.
According to warrants, police stopped 25-year-old Carlos Javier Caraballo of Norcross for a traffic violation between 4 and 5 a.m. near Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Singleton Road.
Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Brian Kelly said further investigation revealed an outstanding arrest warrant, issued by the Norcross Police Department, in which two women accuse Caraballo of peeping into their Garner Street home Nov. 30.
It is unclear how the weapon, a Lorcin .25-caliber handgun, was discovered but records show Caraballo was convicted in 2005 of felony drug possession in Pennsylvania.
In addition to Peeping Tom, Caraballo is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He remained jailed Thursday night on $7,100 bond.
