Census Bureau office to host open house

NORCROSS — The Duluth Local Census Office, located at 5448 Spalding Drive, Building 100, in Norcross, will host an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. today to celebrate its opening.

When operating at peak capacity, local offices will have an administrative staff of about 50 people and will employ more than 1,000 people from the Gwinnett County and North Fulton County areas to conduct various field operations. Testing is currently under way, and residents are encouraged to apply.

The U.S. Constitution requires a count of the population every 10 years. This effort will bring together a national work force of nearly 1.4 million temporary employees to count every resident.
