Central Gwinnett will induct seven former athletes and three former coaches into the high school's athletics hall of fame during Friday night's basketball doubleheader against Brookwood.
The class features longtime Central coach and alum Mark Kimbro, now the athletic director at Brookwood. He will be joined by former cheerleading coach Lisa Cole and basketball coach Cass Cassell, who led the Black Knights to the 2001 state championship.
The former athletes slated for induction include brothers Dusty (class of 1995) and Jeff Keppen (class of 1992), who played baseball for Kimbro. Basketball player Darren Williams (2004) also is in the class, as is football player Ricky "Paps" Smith, the oldest athlete inductee as a 1975 Central grad.
The three female inductees all graduated together in 2003 -- basketball player Stephanie Higgs, softball player Danielle Rainey and swimmer Amanda Korell.
