LAWRENCEVILLE -- A Lawrenceville man is behind bars after police said he kidnapped and raped a Duluth girl sometime between the afternoon of Jan. 19 and Saturday evening.
Cirilo Ramirez, 25, is being held on several charges, including rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment, theft and carrying a concealed weapon. Jail records show the El Savador native also faces a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
According to arrest warrants, Ramirez abducted the alleged victim from an area near Terrace Trace and Cruse Road in Duluth.
In the warrants, police said Ramirez raped the girl at a Martin Heights Drive location, though it is unclear whether they believe the assault took place at his Martin Heights Drive apartment.
The Gwinnett County Police Department declined to provide the incident report, citing the alleged victim's age.
"I am inclined not to release the report because the victim was a juvenile," said department spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli. "Child abuse/molestation reports are not subject to open records."
Police also accuse Ramirez of stealing a 1998 Buick from the Martin Heights Drive area around the same time as the alleged sexual assault.
When police found Ramirez at a Samuel Drive home in Norcross Saturday, he reportedly tried to pass himself off as a 17-year-old named Alex Ramirez.
Ramirez was also found to be in possession of a concealed Jenning 9-mm handgun at that time, reports said.
He is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Jail and a probable cause hearing has been scheduled for Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
