Chamber gets office in China

DULUTH -- Gwinnett's Chamber of Commerce has a new office on the other side of the globe.

Chamber Vice President Nick Masino announced in China that the county's first international office will be stationed in the modern Chinese city of Wuxi, which is home to 6 million people.

The office will serve as a launch pad for Gwinnett businesses expanding into China and is symbolic of Gwinnett's commitment to strong global business relations with China and the city of Wuxi, a press release said.

"Gwinnett is honored to make its first international business location in China and particularly the city of Wuxi," said Masino, who heads the organization's Partnership Gwinnett effort. "Both Wuxi and Gwinnett are very similar in history and vision, making the location a perfect fit for our goals and objectives in global business development."

During his trip to China, Masino presented business opportunities to more than 30 companies. The presentations served as a "pre-trip" to the Chamber's Gwinnett Global Business Mission, where business leaders will travel to China in April.
