WINDER -- A spat between two Barrow County men led one to shoot the other in the foot and leg with a high-powered revolver Tuesday night, authorities said.
Sheriff's deputies arrested Lloyd Hudson, 38, on charges of aggravated assault and drug possession following the 9:36 p.m. shooting, an official said.
Hudson is said to have blasted an acquaintance, Kreg Rayburn, 24, with a .357 Magnum as the two squabbled at Hudson's Ga. Highway 124 residence in Braselton.
Rayburn was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he was recovering in stable condition Wednesday, said Barrow County Sheriff's Office spokesman Investigator Matt Guthas.
Authorities are trying to determine Hudson's motive to start shooting, Guthas said.
"The details of the dispute and altercation are still under investigation," he said, "but investigators have determined the suspect and the victim knew each other and live in the same area."
Hudson remains at the Barrow County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, Guthas said.
