WINDER -- Investigators in Barrow County have made an arrest in the first homicide investigated by county authorities since 2008.
Luis Enrique Gonzalez-Pina, 20, was reportedly stabbed to death Friday morning by his roommate, Saul Rodriguez, 30. They both lived at a Midland Court residence in Winder, where emergency responders found the victim dead of stab wounds early Friday, authorities said.
Gonzalez-Pina was a native of Mexico. His residency status in the United States was being examined by investigators Monday, said Barrow County Sheriff's Office spokesman Investigator Matt Guthas.
Police have not released a motive in the slaying.
Winder police arrested Rodriguez soon after he was identified as a suspect Friday, Guthas said.
The homicide is the first probed by the Sheriff's Office since the body of a man turned up in woods near Atlanta Highway in Winder in November 2008.
"That case is still under investigation," Guthas said.
