Mr. Johnnie Edward Williams, age 72 of Conyers, died Friday, January 8, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Quida Williams; brothers, Dewey Williams and Donald Williams; sisters, Bonnie Williams and Twaina Williams. He is survived by his wife, Phillis Williams, Conyers; daughter, Vickie Williams, Covington; future son-in-law, Phillip Robinson, Covington; sisters, Erma Holcomb, Piedmont, MO and Janie Bouyer, Poplar Bluff, MO; brothers, Sam Williams and Eugene Williams, both from Paragould, AR. Mr. Williams was a deacon at Hydes Chapel Baptist Church for over 30 years, was retired from Weyerhaeuser Paper with 47 years of service and was an avid drag racing fan. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Hydes Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Sheppard and Rev. Ralph Baker officiating; interment will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hydes Chapel Baptist Church, 1630 W. Hightower Trail, Conyers, GA 30012.
