Jennifer's Body (Blu-ray) R
Movie: 3 stars out of 4
Disc: 3 1/2 stars out of 4
This follow-up to Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody's "Juno" is a mash-up of the snarky high school satire a la "Heathers" and blood-soaked horror B-films and is far deeper than most critics or audiences realized. Poking fun at her own public image, Megan Fox stars as the title character, a cheerleader-turned-groupie who manipulates her sycophant best friend (Amanda Seyfried) both before and after becoming undead. The commentary by director Karyn Kusama and Cody is often funnier and more enlightening than what's taking place on screen.
