Grayson's 5- and 6-year-old all-star basketball team claimed the tournament championship at the Dacula All-Star Invitational.
The Rams were 1-1 in pool play and battled through the double elimination bracket as the No. 4 seed to win the title and finish with a 5-2 record.
Team members are Henry Hunter, Renoldo Spivey, Bryson Pierce, Kaden McArthur, Adam Khan, Justin Bogard. The team is coached by Glenn Clark and Allison Mulkey.
Eagles defend championship
The Collins Hill Athletic Association 9-10 boys team won the regular season championship.
The Eagles went 12-0 during the season, which included 10-0 in regular season play.
Despite four of the eight team members playing basketball for the first time, the Eagles averaged nearly 30 points a game. It's the second championship for the Eagles, who went 14-0 last year and are 26-0 the past two seasons.
Team members are Donald Hartry, Kevin Kirby, Zachary Jackson, William Simpson, Justin Talley, Justin Gibilisco, Daniel Duong and David Beasley. The team is coached by Donald Hartry Sr.
Eagles claim crown
The Collins Hill 12-year-old team went undefeated to claim the division championship this season. The team was 13-0 in regular season and tournament play to claim the title.
Team members are Alonzo Arellano, Hunter Hemmings, Craig Lundi, Ryan Jones, Cole Robertson, Austin Thomas and Malik Wright.
The team is coached by Philip Jones and Torrey Wright.
Mill Creek girls win fifth-grade title
The fifth-grade Mill Creek girls won the Gwinnett Basketball League title last weekend, defeating Buford 26-23.
Hanna Adams had an MVP performance with 11 points, including 5 of 6 fourth-quarter free throws to seal the win. Morgan Stanley scored 10 for the Hawks. Taylor Ozment led Buford with 11 points.
Parkview girls top rival Brookwood
Parkview defeated rival Brookwood 34-30 last weekend to win the Gwinnett Basketball League's sixth-grade girls division.
MVP Kemariya Smith led the Panthers with 12 points while Jasmin Fleetwood led Brookwood with 12 points.
Shiloh first in seventh grade
Shiloh's seventh-grade girls team defeated Central Gwinnett 30-20 last weekend to win the Gwinnett Basketball League title.
Charbornay Johnson's shot-blocking and interior defense earned her MVP honors for Shiloh, while Racquel Cranston (11 points) and Kierra Ward (solid ballhandling) also played key roles. Alezandria Frazier (11 points) and Briana McGree (nine points) led Central.
Dacula boys champs in fifth grade
The fifth-grade Dacula boys handily won the Gwinnett Basketball League championship last weekend, rolling past Peachtree Ridge 46-26.
MVP Justin Goodson had eight points and some key assists, while Tyler Thurmond scored 10 points. Breon Dixon (10 points) and J.C. Horn (seven points) led Peachtree Ridge.
Dukes leads Grayson victory
MVP Austin Dukes had 16 points, including 10 of 14 from the free-throw line, to lead Grayson to a 52-48 win over Archer in the sixth-grade boys finals of the Gwinnett Basketball League last weekend.
Darion Taylor added nine points for the victors, while Nicholas Pallone (16 points) and Dylan Singleton (15 points) led Archer.
Mustangs claim seventh-grade crown
Meadowcreek's seventh-graders rolled to the Gwinnett Basketball League title last weekend with a 45-24 win over Dacula.
Jaylen Brown led the Mustangs with 12 points and MVP Desmond Davis scored 10.
Jr. Thrashers win Big Bear
The Atlanta Junior Thrashers Squirt A team won the gold medal at the Big Bear Tournament in Tampa, Fla. The Thrashers utilized a high tempo and relentless attacking game on the way to a 5-0 record, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 26-1.
Connor Mitchell garnered MVP honors behind a tournament-leading seven goal effort, including a four goal game in the final.
Team members are Mathew Reymond, Jack McKenna, Connor Mitchell, Jack Dolan, Ryan Holly, Quinn Fahey, Grant Mitchell, Matthew Connelly, Peyton Emmett, Jared Darrow, Matthew Frick and River Shaffer
The team is coached by Pat Fahey, Rick Emmett, Chris Dolan and Owen Connelly.
Eagles' Court wins Georgia PGA Junior event
Collins Hill's Lauren Court won the season-opening Forest Heights Junior Classic, a Georgia PGA Junior Tour event in Statesboro last weekend. She shot 77 and 85 to finish three shots ahead of Greater Atlanta Christian student Emee Herbert (85-80) in the overall girls division.
Suwanee's Austin Ujhelyi (82-75) tied for seventh overall among boys players.
Summer qualifies for Liukin camp
Summer Garcia, who trains at Ultimate Gymnastics in Duluth, qualified for the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup.
Garcia, 16, placed first in the all-around with a score of 36.2 in the 17-and-older bracket of the level 10 competition at the Illinois Gymnastics Institute to qualify for the prestigious event.
The Liukin camp features 36 of the top female gymnasts in the country selected to compete in event on March 5 in Worchester, Mass.
Garcia is coached by Sharon Kelly and Deshawn Monroe
