PREP ROUNDUP: Hebron's Hillyer homers twice in Lions' victory

CONYERS -- Jordan Hillyer went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBIs to help the Lions defeat Rockdale County 17-1 on Thursday.

Seth Gower hit a home run for Hebron (2-0), and Christian Davila picked up the win on the mound after he threw four innings, and gave up two home runs and four RBIS for the Lions.


Central 4, Apalachee 3

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Grant Thiel went four innings, struck out six and didn't give up a hit, while Brandon White picked up the win as Central Gwinnett took a 4-3 victory over Apalachee on Thursday.

Dillon Mackel was 1-for-4 with a walk off single in the seventh, Casey Shaddix went 1-for-3 with a double, while Dustin Hayes went 2-for-4 for the Black Knights.

Wesleyan 10, Centennial 3

ROSWELL -- Strother White struck out seven batters in four innings to earn the win on the mound for Wesleyan as the Wolves took a 10-3 win over Centennial on Thursday.

Mason Colquitt pitched the final three innings to earn the save for Wesleyan. Adam Workman hit a home run and had three RBIs, while Carter Garrison and Kevin O'Leary each had two hits for Wesleyan (1-1).


Brookwood 4, South Forsyth 1

SNELLVILLE -- Adrian Alabi led the Broncos with three goals as Brookwood took a 4-1 win over South Forsyth on Thursday.

Stefan Gojic scored a goal and had two assists, while Scottt Eidson had the third assist for Brookwood. Matt Mayer picked up the win as goalkeeper with a total of four saves.


Duluth 4, Berkmar 0

LILBURN -- Erin Falk scored two goals and Jessi Viller and Daniela Diaz each scored goals to help the Duluth Wildcats shut out Berkmar 4-0 on Thursday.

Laura Diaz and Tamaya Tompoe each had two assists for Duluth.

Brookwood 5, South Forsyth 1

SNELLVILLE -- Washida Blackman scored two goals to help the Broncos take a 5-1 win over South Forsyth on Thursday.

Laura Goodwin and Rachael Schmidt each contributed a goal, while Jordan Milles scored a goal off of a penalty kick for Brookwood. Sophomore Taylor Strickland was in goal for the Broncos.

Hebron 8, Mt. Pisgah 0

ALPHARETTA -- Jordan Lowery scored twice and added three assists, while Arely Sanchez and McKenzie Towe had two goals and an assist each as the Lions (1-0) blitzed the Patriots in their season opener.

Bianca Clark chipped in a goal and three assists, Tayler Pitts added a goal and Hannah Wilbanks made two saves for the shutout.


Brookwood 5, Dacula 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Broncos swept the Falcons in Region 8-AAAAA action Thursday at Rhodes Jordan Park to move to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in region.

Randy Phillips, Mark Guentert and Matthew Shemanski all won singles matches, while the teams of Matt Jones and Logan Taylor and Jody Chan and Cameron Greene took home the doubles points.

Parkview 6, St. Pius 1

PARKVIEW -- Parkview beat St. Pius 6-1 on Thursday.

The Panthers won all singles matches, with wins from Ethan Motz, Lance Mengel, Wesley Mendoza and Luke McDonald.

Tim Levengood and Patrick Massey earned a win at No. 2 doubles, while Taylor Cheek and Nathan Gravlee added a point in No. 3 doubles for Parkview.

Central 3, Berkmar 2

LILBURN -- Central Gwinnett defeated Berkmar 3-2 on Thursday.

Dino Kunovac won at No. 1 singles, Ennis Millender picked up a point at No. 2 singles and Tommy Nguyen with partner Dongsin Kang added a win at No. 2 doubles for Central (4-2, 1-1).

Trong Nguyen won at No. 3 singles for Berkmar, while Khoa Nguyen and Ty McRae added a point in No. 1 doubles for the Patriots.

Mill Creek 4, Wesleyan 1

NORCROSS -- Mill Creek took a 4-1 win over Wesleyan on Thursday.

Adam Gonterman and Brad Akins each earned wins at singles matches. Quentin Lavender and Nick Hallberg won No. 1 doubles, and Tucker Fleming and Josh Mellott won No. 2 doubles for Mill Creek (3-1).

Norman Chang won at No. 1 singles for Wesleyan (2-2)

North Oconee 4, Providence 1

WATKINSVILLE -- Mike Moye won No. 3 singles for the Stars, but Providence fell to North Oconee 4-1 on Thursday.

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gabbie Griffith won No. 2 singles and Katie Hedlund earned a point at No. 3 singles to help the Broncos take a 4-1 victory over Dacula on Thursday.

Winning at No. 1 doubles were Keelie Denson and Erin Taylor, while Emily Gray and Arielle Byington added a point at No. 2 doubles for Brookwood (4-1).

LILBURN -- Barbara Kapica, Lan Tran and Ashley Kim each won singles matches to help Berkmar shut out Central 5-0 on Thursday.

Kim Lee and Dalena Nguyen earned a win in No. 1 doubles, and Linh Dinh and partner Elana Do added a win at No. 2 doubles for the Patriots.

NORCROSS -- Mill Creek shut out Wesleyan 5-0 on Thursday.

Winning singles matches were Michelle Yau, Kristy Yau, and Mallory Kolts. Stacy Mottesheard and partner Nela Handac picked up a win in No. 1 doubles and Lauren Atkinson and Allison Weaver added a point at No. 2 doubles for Mill Creek (5-0).

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Collins Hill (4-1) shut out Central Gwinnett 5-0 on Wednesday.

Emily Flood, Lina Tibavinsky and Abbie Wehr won singles matches for the Eagles. Erin Gansley and Megan Gorham won the first doubles match, while Anna Delvillar and Maddie Owensby contributed a win in No. 2 doubles for Collins Hill.

North Oconee 4, Providence 1

WATKINSVILLE -- Christy North earned a win at No. 1 singles but Providence lost to North Oconee 4-1 on Thursday.


GAC 14, Riverside Military Academy 1

NORCROSS -- Scotty Smith led the Spartans with five goals, five assists and 16 ground balls as Greater Atlanta Christian took a 14-1 victory over Riverside Military Academy on Thursday.

Erik Reynolds, Justin White and Fletcher James each scored two goals apiece for GAC, while Sam Kessler, Jake Neill and Sawyer Buce each added a goal for the Spartans.


Norcross 12, Grayson 8

NORCROSS -- Laura Klaren led the Blue Devils with five goals and Lauren Foley added two to help Norcross take a 12-8 victory over Grayson on Thursday.


Hebron loses by one stroke

BISHOP -- Taylor Martin was a high scorer for the Lions, but Hebron fell to Athens Academy 169-170 on Thursday.

BISHOP -- Barby Gentry was the top scorer for the Lions as Hebron won all matches to beat Athens Academy 4-0 on Thursday.
