LAWRENCEVILLE -- On Saturday, the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation will host its second annual Cornerstone Society Gala, honoring those who annually donate more than $1,000.
A Foundation spokeswoman said more than 450 guests are expected to attend the black-tie affair, which will be held at the Georgia Jet Hangar on Briscoe Boulevard.
Guest speakers are Lee and Bob Woodruff of ABC News. The couple will give a special presentation of their book, titled "In an Instant," that chronicles their journey through the severe head trauma Bob suffered in Iraq.
Also scheduled during the gala is the debut of the Foundation's new dance video celebrating Gwinnett Medical Center's open-heart program. The video, "Boom Boom Heart," features associates, donors and community leaders dancing to the popular Black Eyed Peas' song, "Boom Boom Pow." Organizers said the more than 950 pairs of red gloves used in production will be sent to Haiti for workers to use in the cleanup.
