Suwanee youth earns rank of Eagle Scout
Tyler Matthew Egg, a sophomore at the Gwinnett School of Math, Science and Technology, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Team 1830 and the son of Brian and Lori Egg of Suwanee. He completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by assembling 300 care packages for U.S. military troops serving overseas. Tyler has earned 22 merit badges, including the 21 required for the rank of Eagle Scout.
Loganville resident wins national scholarship
Jessica A. Williams of Loganville, University of Scranton Public Safety Student Officer, was one of three in the nation to receive a scholarship from the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The award is recognition of her academic ability, leadership and dedication to campus safety. She is a senior at the University of Scranton majoring in criminal justice.
Lawrenceville youth earns rank of Eagle Scout
Lucas William Burruss, member of Boy Scout Troop 100, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is the son of Donnie and Teresa Burruss of Lawrenceville. Lucas completed his Eagle Scout project by reworking the playground at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church.
Lawrenceville student honored at reception
Kevin Corn of Lawrenceville, a senior at Washington and Lee University, was recognized at the Celebrating Student Success reception Jan. 25. He is a graduate of Peachtree Ridge High School and is majoring in American history at Washington and Lee. Corn is a research intern as a Robert E. Lee Scholar and has received various scholarships. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Corn of Lawrenceville.
