SUWANEE -- The Gwinnett County Board of Education will be asked Thursday to adopt a proclamation honoring the Gwinnett County PTA.
Each February, the school board honors the PTA in conjunction with the anniversary of the National PTA's founding in 1987.
During its monthly business meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, the school board will also honor schools that met or exceeded their goals for the 2009 Gwinnett County Public Schools United Way campaign. Most notably, Rebecca Minor Elementary and Lilburn Elementary raised $14,564 and $11,815, respectively.
The school board will meet in the board room of the Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road N.W., Suwanee.
