SUWANEE -- City officials announced recently that the 2010 Suwanee Farmers Market will not only be open for business on Saturday mornings, but Tuesday evenings as well.
"Our farmers are excited to be able to offer fresh produce twice a week through the Suwanee market," said Events Coordinator Amy Doherty. "Now, those residents who enjoy sleeping in on the weekend have a chance to enjoy fresh, in-season produce, too."
Beginning May 1 and going through Oct. 12, the Farmers Market will open at Town Center Park from 8 a.m. until noon Saturdays and from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays.
Each week, nearly two dozen vendors offer in-season produce, herbs and plants, free-range meat and eggs, baked goods and jams and jellies.
For those interested in participating in the Farmers Market, guidelines and applications are available at www.suwanee.com, though a city spokeswoman said applications will not be accepted until the annual Farmers Market meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. March 29 at Suwanee City Hall.
