GWINNETT GAB: Early Education Center accepting applications for summer day camp

LAWRENCEVILLE — The D. Scott Hudgens Jr. Early Education Center at Gwinnett Technical College is now accepting enrollment for its summer day camp, Camp Imagination Station.

Camp Imagination Station is a specialized summer camp program for children who will be entering kindergarten through second grade in the fall. Children must be 5 by Sept. 1 of this year to be eligible.

The camp will run from June 1 through July 30. Daily hours will be 7 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. Children may be enrolled for the entire session or on a weekly basis. The cost is $150 per week or $50 per day.

American Legion hosts blood drive

LOGANVILLE — The Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Loganville American Legion Post 233, located at 4635 U.S. Highway 78 across from McDonald's.

Wendy's collecting donations for Haiti

LAWRENCEVILLE — Wendy's restaurants, in partnership with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, will collect donations from employees and customers to help the critical needs of orphaned children of Haiti.

Customers can make donations in the coin canisters in the restaurants through Feb. 2 or visit www.wendys.com to donate online.

The Dave Thomas Foundation will work with child-serving organizations that are addressing the critical needs of the orphaned children of Haiti.

After Feb. 28, canister funds will continue to support Wendy's Wonderful Kids, a signature program of the Foundation, which directs monetary grants to hire adoption recruiters throughout North America to find adoptive homes for children in foster care.
