PREP ROUNDUP: Collins Hill boys open with sweep

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Collins Hill's boys tennis team won its season opener 5-0 over Berkmar on Tuesday behind singles victories from Ryan Maloney, Chris Clark and Jake Inderrieden.

Tyler Anderson and Tyler Kallgren won at No. 1 doubles, while Mark Zacharias and Alec Rahmanian added a win at No. 2 doubles.


Providence 5, Holy Innocents' 0

ATLANTA -- Singles wins by Jon North, Emory Williams and Mike Moye helped Providence Christian to a 5-0 win over Holy Innocents' on Thursday.

Parker Story and Christian Turner were victorious at No. 1 doubles, as were David Chi and Eric Casey at No. 2 doubles.

Dacula 5, Flowery Branch 0

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Dacula (1-1) came back a day after a tough and cold start to the season and rolled past Flowery Branch 5-0 on Thursday.

Kevin Ramberg, Matt Nelson and Caleb Barth were singles winners. Blair Kievit and Blake Hutchins won at No. 1 doubles. Wes Sherwood and Alex Garmon rounded out the sweep at No. 2 doubles.

Mill Creek 5, West Forsyth 0

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek opened the season with a 5-0 sweep of West Forsyth on Thursday.

Singles winners were Adam Gonterman, Quentin Lavender and Lee Mike Turner. Nick Hallberg and Tucker Fleming won at No. 1 doubles, while Brad Adkins and J.J. Needham completed the sweep at No. 2 doubles.


Collins Hill 5, Berkmar 0

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Emily Flood, Lina Tibavinsky and Cassie Owensby won their singles matches as the Collins Hill girls tennis team opened the season Thursday with a 5-0 win over Berkmar.

Kaitlin Torke and Jillian Estes won at No. 1 doubles, as did the No. 2 pairing of Maddie Owensby and Megan Gorham.

Providence 3, Holy Innocents' 2

ATLANTA -- Providence Christian got a No. 1 doubles win from Rebecca Swindall and Abby Mazza to clinch a 3-2 win over Holy Innocents' on Thursday.

Also picking up points for the Stars were Christy North at No. 1 singles and Jenny Hersh at No. 3.

Mill Creek 3, West Forsyth 2

HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek edged West Forsyth in the season opener by combining Mallory Kolts' win at No. 3 singles and a doubles sweep Thursday.

The No. 1 doubles team of Stacy Mottesheard and Nela Handac earned the Hawks a point, while Cailey Stevens and Allison Weaver closed out the victory at No. 2 doubles.
