LAWRENCEVILLE -- Police said a Lawrenceville teen was shot in the leg during a possible drug deal gone awry Monday night.
The shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. at the 17-year-old victim's Adams Landing Court residence off New Hope Road, police said. The male victim was hospitalized with injuries that aren't life-threatening, said Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli.
Police withheld the victim's name Tuesday.
Schiralli said evidence at the scene led investigators to believe the shooting may have involved some kind of drug transaction, but the victim isn't talking.
"He was not forthcoming when interviewed concerning the circumstances surrounding the incident," Schiralli said.
Detectives are attempting to locate at least one suspect, Schiralli said.
