WINDER -- Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the stabbing death of a 50-year-old Winder man Friday morning.
Just before midnight on Friday, Barrow County investigators arrested 18-year-old Justin Baber, charging him with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and tampering with evidence.
Investigator Matt Guthas said Marty Wilson died sometime early Friday morning from knife wounds suffered during an altercation with Baber in Baber's Clacktown Road home.
Deputies responded to the residence at about 8:45 a.m., according to reports, where they found Wilson dead. Guthas said Wilson was a guest in the home, but the relationship between the two, if any, is unclear.
Details regarding the altercation are still being investigated.
Guthas said Baber fled the scene with the "murder weapon" and attempted to "conceal the discovery of" the knife, but showed up at the sheriff's office later that evening, where he was arrested.
Baber is being held in the Barrow County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
