A day after announcing the 18 signees making up the four-year future of its football program, Georgia Tech announced its more short-term future Thursday with the release of the 2010 schedule.
The Yellow Jackets, the 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference champions who finished 11-3 and No. 13 in the final Associated Press rankings, begin the 2010 season on Sept. 4 at Bobby Dodd Stadium against Division I-FCS foe South Carolina State. The slate concludes Nov. 27 against archrival Georgia at Sanford Stadium in Athens.
The Jackets begin defense of their ACC crown with the conference opener Sept. 18 on the road against North Carolina at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Among the other highlights of the schedule:
* A Sept. 11 game against Big 12 opponent Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
* A home game against N.C. State, which replaces Florida State on Tech's rotating ACC inter-divisional schedule, on Sept. 25
* Only one Thursday night game this season, against Virginia Tech on Nov. 4 in Blacksburg, Va.
* An ACC championship game rematch with Clemson on Oct. 23 at Death Valley.
