NORCROSS -- A 4-year-old boy abducted from his Six Flags Drive home in Cobb County Thursday morning was found safe hours later in Norcross.
At about 4:15 p.m., reports said, Gwinnett County police, deputies and U.S. Marshals, aided by the Cobb County Police Department, descended on the Madison Ridge Apartments on Indian Trail-Lilburn Road where they found Christian Guevera.
Cobb County authorities said several men were detained and charges are forthcoming. The investigation is ongoing, said Cobb police Officer Joseph Hernandez.
Guevera appeared to be in good health, police said, but was taken to an area hospital for a precautionary examination and to be reunited with his mother.
"The child ... appears to be in good health," said Gwinnett police spokesman Officer Brian Kelly. "(He) is being medically screened, but by all appearances is not physically hurt."
Around 9 a.m., according to reports, two Hispanic men, donning black ski masks, assaulted Guevera's mother at the Village Mobile Home Park in Mableton before hauling the child away in a white Chevrolet Suburban.
It is unclear whether the mother knew the alleged assailants and police did not release a suspected motive Thursday.
A Levi's Call was immediately issued, but it is unclear exactly what information led authorities to the Norcross apartment.
Kelly said Gwinnett police assisted Cobb County authorities in tracking the child and obtaining a search warrant.
