LILBURN — A pickup truck burst into flames while being serviced at Lilburn garage Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded to Killian Hill Automotive at 23 Killian Hill Road just after 1:15 p.m., finding smoke showing from the front of the building on arrival, Rutledge said. Crews found the smoldering truck on a scissor lift, the vehicle’s fuel tank thankfully recently removed by mechanics. Employees used portable fire extinguishers to douse the flames before it was able to spread, Rutledge said. “Their quick actions stopped the forward progress of the fire and saved the rest of the building,” Rutledge said. The blaze caused moderate damage to the vehicle and only slight damage to the bay it was being serviced in.More like this story
