DULUTH — Coming off a four-point night that helped further the Gwinnett Gladiators’ resuscitation, rookie Aaron Bendickson was named to the ECHL All-Star team Thursday.

Bendickson leads Gladiators rookies in scoring with 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) in 24 games this season. The Thief River Fall, Minnesota native is riding a three-game goal scoring streak and had three assists Wednesday in a big win over Wheeling. Gwinnett was on an 11-game losing skid before Bendickson and the rest of the team put together back-to-back wins this week. Bendickson was named the ECHL rookie of the month for October after a fantastic start. He posted nine points (two goals, seven assists) in four games. It also earned him a call-up to the American Hockey League with Rochester where he appeared in seven games and notched one goal. In his four-year collegiate career, Bendickson had 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists) in 147 games with Wisconsin.More like this story
