DULUTH — Because of a recent conversion from a federal to a state charter, Duluth-based Georgia Federal Credit Union has a new name — Georgia United Credit Union.
The credit union’s members voted this fall to approve the conversion, which credit union officials said will allow more growth and service opportunities. The charter change necessitated a change to the credit union’s name. The name became effective Dec. 10. The new name will have minimal impact on the credit union’s 84,000 member-owners. The new name and logo will be introduced over the next few months, as debit and credit cards are reissued, checks are reordered and signs are updated. The 52-year-old credit union has more than $630 million in assets and 13 branch locations.More like this story
