CONYERS — The two men arrested in connection with a bank robbery last week turned out to be soldiers in the Army National Guard, and one of the men is accused of murder in a DeKalb County drive-by shooting.
Jamelle Lloyd Francis, 25, of Grayson and Menshack Jah Nyepah, 21, of Decatur each face armed robbery and aggravated assault charges in connection with the Dec. 23 incident at Georgia’s Own Credit Union, located at 620 Sigman Road. Conyers police said in a news release Wednesday that both men were soldiers in the Army National Guard, holding the rank of specialist. They were attached to the HHC 560th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade out of Fort Gillem. According to Wednesday’s news release, Francis was wearing his Army uniform under the coveralls he disposed of in a wooded area after the heist. Nyepah faces charges of murder, false report of a crime and giving false statements in connection with a fatal drive-by shooting that happened in May in DeKalb County.More like this story
