BUFORD — An early afternoon blaze caused “significant” damage to a Buford home Thursday.
Gwinnett County firefighters received a report of the fire from a passerby, responding to the home on the 2400 block of East Maddox Road at about 1:50 p.m., spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said. Crews found flames burning in the attic and shooting through the roof of the single-story home on arrival. Emergency personnel were able to bring the blaze under control, but not before it caused significant damage, Rutledge said. The exact cause of the fire remained undetermined and under investigation Thursday evening. No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, Rutledge said.More like this story
