Everson named to Governor's Office of Workforce Development

SNELLVILLE — Melvin Everson will have a job working to get Georgians jobs after all.

The outgoing state representative from Snellville decided not to seek re-election in order to run for labor commissioner, but he lost in this year’s primary.

On Friday, Gov.-elect Nathan Deal named Everson as the director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development.

The former Snellville city councilman, who is an associate pastor at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, had said he was planning to attend law school after leaving office.
