SNELLVILLE — City staff members got the go-ahead Monday evening to pursue a proposal to contract with Clark Patterson Lee, a planning and design firm located in Suwanee, to design a master plan for the city’s Town Center. The contract amount, if approved, will be $98,750.
“This is an exciting and important planning project for Snellville, which builds upon the city’s comprehensive plan and LCI study,” Eric Van Otteren, Snellville’s Economic Development Manager said. “By promoting traditional neighborhood development and urban planning strategies to accommodate future growth, our city will create a vibrant, attractive town center that fosters activity, investment and sustainable development.” Bluesprings Youth Soccer Association selected The Bluesprings Youth Soccer Association has been chosen to be the organization that will assume the oversight of the city’s soccer program, according to Gail Deal of the city’s Parks and Recreation advisory board. According to Deal, her committee’s recommendation of this association was based on a couple of principles. There are two Bluesprings facilities, one on Ga. Highway 81 in Loganville, and an indoor facility on U.S. Highway 78, also in Loganville. Deal also remarked that the chosen association will keep soccer “affordable,” available to most children who want to play. She also added that, based on her own observations, the coaches in this organization try to coach the child in team play, sportsmanship and soccer skills.More like this story
