Billy L. Simonton, age 68, of Loganville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Hayes Simonton on June 1, 2010. Survivors include his four children, Travis and Roxanna Simonton of Loganville, Stacy and Angela Simonton of Gainesville, Tracy Smith of Grayson, Scott and Angelia Simonton of Smyrna; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Victoria, Brianna, Austin, Alexander, Aiden, Charlotte Ashley and Brooke; sister & brother-in-law, Mary and Thomas Murell of Loganville; mother-in-law, Tempie Elizabeth Hayes of Tucker; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Billy Simonton was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia on October 18, 1942 to Sarah Christine Padgett Simonton and William Ellis Simonton. He attended South Gwinnett High School and retired from General Motors Lakewood Plant with over 29 years of service. Billy was dedicated to his work and was of the Baptist faith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. A Service Celebrating the Life of Billy Simonton will be held Sunday, December 12, 2010, at 12:30 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Hughes officiating. Interment Haynes Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
