LAWRENCEVILLE — A natural gas leak temporarily closed one lane of Scenic Highway during rush hour Wednesday, after a construction crew hit a gas line with a bulldozer.
Firefighters responded to the scene at a construction site near the intersection of Scenic Highway and Sugarloaf Parkway at 4:45 p.m., Rutledge said.
There were no immediate exposure hazards, Rutledge said, “mostly because the gas vapors (were) readily dissipating in the atmosphere.” Crews were able to stop the leak by about 7 p.m. No injuries were reported.
