“Prep Rally” to feature football playoff highlights

“Gwinnett Prep Rally,” a Gwinnett County high school sports TV program, airs state playoff football highlights from Grayson-Colquitt County, Brookwood-Collins Hill, Wesleyan-Savannah Christian and Buford-Lovett on this week’s show. The Gwinnett Greats segment takes a look back at the 1996 Class AAAA state championship game between Brookwood and Valdosta.

“Gwinnett Prep Rally,” hosted by Daily Post editor Todd Cline and sports editor Will Hammock, airs Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on GCPS-TV and each Wednesday-Friday at 7:30 a.m., 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on GCPS-TV. Check www.gwinnettpreprally.com for more information.

Broncos 22nd at Nike Cross Nationals

Brookwood’s state champion cross country team, racing under the name Snellville XC Club, placed 22nd at the Nike Cross Nationals on Saturday.

The Broncos placed second at the regional to earn a trip to Portland, Ore., against the top teams and individuals in the country.

Morgan Malanoski was Brookwood’s top finisher with a time of 17 minutes, 48 seconds to place 105th. Michael Giuliano had time of 18:09, Jackson Wearn 18:10, Matt Barudin 18:27, Gabriel Gomez 19:07, Sean Brennan 19:12 and Drew Vanderwood 19:38. Parkview’s Alec Klassen, who qualified as an individual, placed 106th with a time of 17:49.
